From September 27-29, thousands gathered at Esther Short Park in Vancouver, Washington for DARE 2 BELIEVE 2017 (D2B 2017) - a free community festival featuring live music and comedy, a Kid Zone, free food and much more!
Sponsored by A.M.E. Zion Church and produced by Events by Montes, LLC, the 3-night event was heavily promoted by 104.1 FM The Fish. The station's on-air personalities Chris Kelly and Crystal Thornton served as hosts, and welcomed performances by GRAMMY nominated recording artist Jamie Grace, Gotee Records hitmaker Ryan Stevenson, Nate Andrade, Jontez, Josh Lopez and comedy headliner Antoine Scott, who has been featured on Showtime at the Apollo, Bill Bellamy’s Who Got Jokes and in the motion picture Evan Almighty. D2B 2017 also featured encouraging messages from Bishop Staccato Powell and a special performance by Imani Mulele - an African kids comprised of orphans who managed to inspire everyone in the park.
In addition to entertainment and family fun, the organizers of D2B also coordinated Washington State's largest free dinner party ever, feeding over 2,000 people on Friday night.
“Our goal was for D2B 2017 to be an uplifting community festival aimed at promoting faith, unity, love and healing by encouraging believers and unbelievers alike to dare to believe in the limitless love, forgiveness and power of God,” said event organizer John Montes. “At a time when there is so much division and uncertainty, it was inspiring to see people come together from every walk of life, ethnicity, and faith.”
D2B 2017 would like to thank the following vendors for their participation: Options 360, Christian Network, Dr. Ted, The Fish Radio, Prayer Works, Courageous Beginnings, Men's Prayer Breakfast, I AM JULIAN SILVA, Imani Milele Children Choir, The Process and the Ukrainian choir Evangelist.
